Do you enjoy delivering great service, meeting excited travelers, and working for a company that values the environment?

As a train attendant on Inlandsbanan, you will primarily work with customer service and sales on board our trains during the summer season. You are the face of Inlandsbanan and play a central role in the travelers' experience – where your communication skills and sensitivity to people's different needs are of utmost importance.

The role mainly consists of being a tour guide and guiding our travelers during the train journey. You will talk about the landscapes, places, and attractions that the train passes and help make the journey both memorable and lively. You are responsible for service and information on board, assisting travelers, managing the sale of snacks and souvenirs, taking orders for lunch and dinner stops, and making announcements during the journey. Together with the train driver, you are also responsible for safety on board the train.

What do we expect from you?

We are looking for someone with a completed high school education and previous experience in service roles. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Additional language skills – especially German – are an advantage. We also see that you have experience and feel comfortable speaking in front of groups.

To thrive in the role of train attendant, we believe you have a personal interest related to the journeys along Inlandsbanan, such as outdoor life, trains and railways, history, geography – and of course, a genuine interest in travel. You are social, outgoing, and enjoy chatting, meeting people, and contributing to a warm and professional hospitality.

We offer a seasonal position during the summer, based in Östersund. The position involves overnight stays in other locations. Employment is according to the applicable collective agreement.

Before the summer traffic starts (beginning of June), you need to be available for train attendant training provided by Destination Inlandsbanan, which takes place at Inlandsbanan's headquarters in Östersund.
