Kyrkstugan is a popular destination during the summer months with many visitors, located by Nydalasjön. The café offers homemade pastries, ice cream, and fair trade products for sale. During the café's opening hours, we provide various activities for visitors such as Open Preschool, music, and services.

About the Job

A workday at Kyrkstugan involves many different tasks such as making sandwiches, preparing the premises, baking, cash handling, selling pastries, managing dishes, cleaning the premises, outdoor areas, and restrooms. You will also be responsible for closing the café in the evening, according to the schedule. Some shifts will be at Ålidhemskyrkan for baking for Kyrkstugan. The position means you will mostly work weekends and have your days off on weekdays. You will be off during Midsummer weekend when Kyrkstugan is closed. The week before Kyrkstugan opens will focus on baking and introduction.

About You

We are looking for someone who is self-driven, enjoys working at a fast pace at times, is motivated, flexible, service-oriented, and enjoys working in a team. We believe that your personal qualities are crucial for how well you will thrive at Kyrkstugan. As a person, you are open, social, and positive as the job involves a lot of contact with people. Orderliness and attention to cleanliness and hygiene are essential for you.

We also expect you to have experience working in a café or restaurant, or equivalent experience where service has been a central part. It is an advantage if you have experience of engagement within the church.

The Church of Sweden in Umeå consists of six parishes and together forms Umeå pastorate. Kyrkstugan is part of Ålidhems parish, which also includes Ålidhemskyrkan, Carlskyrkan, Kyrkhörnan in Tomtebo, and Innertavle mission house.
