We are an acute care department treating patients in need of highly specialized surgery and nursing care. Patients primarily come from the emergency department, acute care unit, and in some cases directly from the intensive care unit. We work in a multidisciplinary team consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, medical secretaries, and rehabilitation staff. The department also employs a nursing leader who, together with the rest of the staff, supports complex nursing situations and ensures improvements and quality development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nursing assistant with us, you will work extensively with postoperative care for patients who have undergone complicated surgical procedures. The patients have significant nursing needs, and it is crucial that you, as a nursing assistant, collaborate with the nurse to address each patient's needs. As a nursing assistant, you are expected to be active during rounds, work independently, take initiative, and discuss various patients' needs with your nurse. Your tasks will include taking postoperative checks, mobilizing patients, filling out and calculating fluid balances, and after training, managing stomas, flushing drains, and dressing changes.

The atmosphere in the department is characterized by openness and tolerance, as well as helping each other across boundaries. You will create your own schedule, giving you the opportunity to influence your working hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a trained nursing assistant with a focus on acute care/nursing according to the previous program structure or a trained nursing assistant within the new program structure who has studied all specializations. You have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. We prefer that you have work experience in inpatient care. Previous surgical experience is also considered an advantage.
