At Valmet in Karlstad, you will be part of an engaged team in a global company at the forefront of the paper industry. We work with complete solutions – everything from machines and equipment to services – for customers all over the world. Our goal? To understand what our customers need and develop smart, tailored solutions that truly make a difference.

We are currently looking for two new designers for our design teams. In total, we are around 60 engineers who are passionate about technology, development, and finding the best solutions. Here you will have the chance to grow, challenge yourself, and work with products that are used globally.

Your role

As a designer, you will be an important part of a team working with mechanical design and technical project management. With us, you will among other things:

• Produce drawings and technical documentation for purchasing, manufacturing, and assembly of our advanced Tissue machines.
• Be involved in developing our products and driving improvements.
• Have the opportunity to delve into specific machine parts or components if you want to dive deeper.
• Have great opportunities to grow – both within design and more customer-facing roles.
• Travel occasionally when needed for projects.

We believe that you…

• Have 2–5 years of experience and a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering – or equivalent experience focusing on mechanical design.
• Really like technology – extra points if you also enjoy tinkering or working with technology in your spare time.
• Thrive in a team but are also self-driven and take responsibility when needed.
• Are driven, communicative, solution-oriented, and contribute to a great team spirit.
• Have good English skills in both speech and writing.
• Have experience from the paper or process industry, or from technical product design and manufacturing – this is an advantage, but not a requirement.
