About the recruiting unit
The Uppland and Västmanland Group (UVG) is a military regional group responsible for planning, developing, and executing operations with two Home Guard battalions and one Home Guard intelligence company within Uppland and Västmanland counties.
UVG belongs to the Central Military Region and is stationed at the Enköping garrison. The staff working at UVG are permanently employed within the Swedish Armed Forces.
Main responsibilities
In the role of IT/Communication Officer, you will be involved in the unit's work with IT, communications, liaison, and signals protection matters. This occurs in close collaboration with other personnel within the unit and MR M.
Responsibilities include, among other things:
- Acting as the signals protection chief at UVG and supporting our HV units regarding signals protection service.
- Having local operational responsibility for the command support systems and associated cryptographic systems used within the unit.
- Administering various systems, such as SLACK and Moodle.
- Being the responsible card administrator for TEID cards.
- Participating as an instructor in exercises and training of combat units.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Approved upper secondary school diploma or other education/experience that the employer can assess as equivalent
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
- Driver's license B
- Good computer skills
- Good knowledge of the Home Guard's combat capabilities
- Good knowledge of the command support and cryptographic systems used within the Home Guard
Personal qualities
- We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented, responsible, and has a good ability to switch between details and the big picture. You should be used to working independently as well as in a team.
- The role of IT/Communication Officer involves a lot of collaboration both within and outside the unit, so we value that you are communicative.
- As the position is complex, you need to be structured, meticulous, and able to plan and prioritize your work.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Meritorious
- Knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' IT systems
- Signals protection chief FM
- Signals protection instructor
- Experience as an instructor in staff, liaison, and signals protection service
- Card administrator
- Good knowledge of Windows
- Administrative handling of hardware and software, certificates
- Completed military basic training/GSU/combat training
Other
Employment form: Permanent employment; the Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority. The position entails military placement. With the employment comes national and international work obligations.
Employment rate: Full-time 100%.
Work location: Enköping.
The position entails travel and training at other locations, as well as participation in exercise activities and work being conducted outside regular working hours.
Start date: By agreement.
Salary: Individual salary applies in the Swedish Armed Forces.

The Central Military Region (MR M) is a military unit and an organizational unit where the Chief and Staff are located in Kungsängen. The organization consists of a Chief with staff, six training groups for the education and support of the Home Guard, and about 7000 Home Guard soldiers organized into eleven battalions and several independent units.
The Chief of the Central Military Region with the regional staff leads subordinate units, collaborates with regional and local actors, leads security and intelligence services, and supports operational and tactical leaders who solve tasks within the region. The region also serves as a link between the Swedish Armed Forces and civil society, actively collaborating with the county administrative board and region. If necessary, MR M also leads operations, for example, during national crisis situations and support to society. The military region solves tasks in peace, crisis, and war.
The organization and operational area of the Central Military Region encompass the geographical counties of Stockholm, Uppsala, Södermanland, Västmanland, Dalarna, and Gävleborg. Training groups and the Home Guard are present in each county.
