Job Responsibilities

As a social worker with us, you will work to investigate, assess, and follow up on the right to social assistance. You will have a lot of contact with individuals seeking support and actively work to find ways forward, often in collaboration with other actors. You will, among other things:

  • Receive applications for financial assistance and make assessments according to the Social Services Act (SoL)
  • Collect and review documentation regarding the individual's financial situation
  • Make decisions about assistance and document cases according to applicable legislation
  • Conduct conversations about life situations, obstacles, and opportunities
  • Create individual plans together with the client
  • Motivate towards work, internships, or education
  • Collaborate with the Employment Service, the Social Insurance Agency, healthcare, and other actors
  • Participate in meetings and follow-ups regarding the client's development

You will meet individuals with various backgrounds and needs, such as unemployed individuals, single parents, young adults without networks, people with mental health issues or addiction problems, and newcomers.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who has a genuine commitment to social work and wants to make a real difference for people in vulnerable life situations. Furthermore, you should have:

  • A degree in social work
  • A valid driver's license (B)

It is advantageous if you have experience in social investigations related to financial assistance as well as experience or interest in working with individuals with harmful use, addiction, and co-occurring disorders. As a person, you find it easy to collaborate with others and have a humble attitude where the individual's best interest is always at the center. You have an analytical way of thinking - you can break down complex situations into smaller parts to understand the whole, weigh different options, and draw well-founded conclusions. At the same time, you are creative and solution-focused. You adapt your approach according to the individual's needs and contribute new ideas and methods that develop both yourself and the organization.
