ABOUT THE POSITION

As a Junior Materials Engineer at this company, you will belong to a team of 15 people who work closely together to create products that meet customer requirements. The team consists of component engineers, materials engineers, and lab engineers - there is a high ceiling and the group is given significant responsibility to take initiatives together.

You will actively work on issues related to materials and processes, collaborating across boundaries both internally and externally to ensure good quality and products that meet customer requirements. As a materials engineer, you will work with production engineers to create effective assembly qualifications and participate in quote calculations focusing on requirements and costs. In addition to these responsibilities, you will work with technical article management towards customers and suppliers, as well as write specifications for the products.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

• Materials and process development: Select, develop, qualify, and optimize materials and manufacturing processes for parts, components, and compile related work instructions for production engineers
• Testing and evaluation: Plan, coordinate, and document tests to develop, characterize, verify, and qualify materials and processes
• Cross-functional support: Advise engineering departments on material and process choices during product development, as well as support procurement, production, and quality in implementing new processes and managing deviations

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

• Has a completed post-secondary education in chemistry, materials, mechanics, or production engineering
• Has a strong technical interest and demonstrates this during the recruitment process as personal qualities are highly valued for this position
• Has good knowledge of Swedish and is fluent in English as these languages are used in daily work

It is an advantage if you have previous work experience in materials and process work. Knowledge can be obtained through education, experience, or self-learning.
