ABOUT THE POSITION

Sigma Connectivity is now looking for a driven and skilled Toolmaker/Prototype Technician for their mechanics department, for the prototype and test hardware team. You will play a key role in the development of prototypes and advanced solutions, a job where no day is the same and where your skills and creativity are at the center.

We are looking for someone with a background as a toolmaker or a similar role, where you have developed a genuine craftsmanship. Your primary tasks revolve around creating, modifying, and solving problems within the framework of prototype development. The days are varied: you will handle everyday operations of simpler parts, as well as work on more advanced projects within the mechanics department. This includes everything from precision work in our high-speed milling machine and CNC equipment to manual handling in lathes and milling machines. You are expected not only to operate the machines but also to actively participate in discussions with the mechanics to develop the best prototypes and solutions for the hardware.

A central part of the job is CAM preparation where you prepare the details for processing. Essentially, it involves cutting equipment, but sheet metal bending may also occur. As innovative solutions are sought, your ability to see the potential in modifying and optimizing the equipment to meet the project's unique requirements is crucial. In short: you are the expert who ensures that the engineers' ideas become reality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

The role involves working with mechanical processing and prototype development of test equipment and hardware. You will be responsible for operating and modifying machines and contributing to problem-solving in close collaboration with the team.

• Operation, maintenance, and modification of the machine park
• Development of advanced prototypes and special tools
• Active participation in discussions with mechanics to solve complex problems and optimize solutions
• Mainly working with cutting processing in CNC and manual machines
• CAM preparation of details

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

• Has a few years of relevant work experience, preferably as a toolmaker or in a role focused on prototype development and machining
• Has very good knowledge of operating and setting CNC machines
• Has the ability to perform CAM preparation of prototypes and tools
• Is fluent in both Swedish and English in speech and writing, as communication takes place in both languages
• Enjoys problem-solving and is proactive
