About the Role

Do you want to make a real difference in Sweden's energy transition and achieve climate goals? We will make significant investments in our grid and are now looking for a Power Engineer with expertise in control systems for our projects.

We are undergoing a historic transition and are facing extensive electrification of society. One way we are doing this is by increasing the investments we make in our electricity grid. To achieve this, we need more engaged employees within the Facility Investment unit who work on our investment projects in local and regional networks.

About the Role

As a Power Engineer with us, we promise you will be challenged with exciting and complex issues. The Project Technology Substations department is responsible for ensuring technical content in planning, implementation of facility investments, and delivering facility technical specialist competence to the business. With technology in focus, we are involved in developing practical solutions to technical challenges within operations, development, and facility construction.

Your main responsibility will be to provide specialist competence to the investment operations, which means acting as a technical resource in our projects. Your tasks will include:

  • Ensuring the quality of new facilities and that the facility design is optimal.
  • Participating in bid evaluations regarding the station's technical functions.
  • Reviewing technical design and checking the design during factory testing.
  • Acting as the responsible representative during commissioning tests and commissioning, ensuring that the facility meets the requirements in the technical specifications and Vattenfall's Technical Guidelines.
  • Collaborating with other departments within the facility investment unit.

Travel to projects in northern Sweden may occur, as well as occasional trips abroad.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

  • An engineering degree in electrical power technology or has acquired equivalent competence through work experience.
  • Experience with a variety of power engineering issues and is familiar with the structure and function of the electricity grid, preferably with a focus on fault isolation and control equipment systems.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
  • Driving license class B.

It is an advantage if you have experience in:

  • Relay protection testing.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a role where you can use your analytical skills and collaborate with others. You are driven by curiosity and want to constantly learn more related to technology and how technology can be used most effectively to provide good technical support in projects.
