IT Support Staff at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to increasing the IT department's local support in core operations and who is passionate about helping and educating others with digital tools. You have a strong interest in understanding the needs and requirements of employees.

Your service role will be an important interface between the IT department and core operations. You will be part of a unique initiative for the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, which involves shaping a new type of local IT support for core operations.

You will be placed in the IT department under the IT Service Center Unit and spend a lot of time in core operations in client-facing work. In your geographical area, you will handle IT service requests in our core operations, prison, remand facility, and probation. Our operations are conducted in various locations across the country, which means extensive travel within your regional area, including occasional overnight stays. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service provides pool cars for these services used during working hours.

In your service role, you will:

  • Creatively contribute to increased digital maturity in the organization by, for example, acting as an advisor, guiding, and supporting staff regarding the IT department's services and helping to develop local IT security work.
  • Support the organization with IT service requests.
  • Assist IT support with problem-solving.
  • Participate in service development by continuously gathering improvement suggestions and feedback on IT's services and applications.
  • Help the IT department with specific assignments, such as implementations and lifecycle management of hardware.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who takes responsibility for their tasks and can independently structure, prioritize, and drive their processes within given time frames. Furthermore, we see that you are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. You work well with others, have a good understanding of how others absorb knowledge, and adapt and relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. Finally, you act in accordance with decisions made and raise criticism only in the appropriate contexts or directly with the parties involved.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Completed upper secondary education in the form of a diploma or upper secondary examination, or other education combined with experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
  • Experience in service work that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
  • The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
  • A valid driver's license (B).

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Education with a focus on IT.
  • Experience working in the core operations of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
  • Experience providing support to end-users.
  • Experience in service with a focus on IT or technology.
  • Experience working as an onsite technician or similar.
  • Knowledge and understanding of service management and its support.
  • Knowledge of hardware related to PCs, thin clients, laptops, printers, video equipment.
  • Work experience from an authority or other organization that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
