The Community Development Administration consists of three departments: citizen service, strategic community planning, and the technical department. The administration is responsible for ensuring service to citizens and businesses, for the strategic planning of community building, as well as for the municipality's water and sewage operations, waste management, property, and project organization to support these operations in new and reinvestments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Åre Municipality's water and sewage operations are gearing up to meet needs both in the short and long term! We are currently strengthening our organization and are looking for an operations technician for the pipeline network.

Water and sewage (VA) is an important part of our society, and Åre Municipality faces exciting challenges where you can contribute to sustainable management of a community-supporting operation that delivers drinking water and manages and purifies wastewater.

As an operations technician within the VA unit, you will primarily work with the operation and maintenance of our pipeline network. You will also participate in operational work with our waterworks, treatment plants, pressure boosting stations, and pump stations, as the work will eventually involve standby duties. The tasks include daily operations and supervision, investigations of the VA system as well as maintenance work. To ensure operations, the ability to draw conclusions from trend curves in monitoring systems and reported incidents is required. You will work to some extent according to established routines but also participate in improvement work of our working methods and the use of digital systems for efficiency and goal tracking. The work requires the ability to switch between investigative tasks and suddenly arising acute operational disturbances.

The work area is spread over large parts of the municipality, and you will often work in collaboration with colleagues but will also be able to work independently to some extent. In this position, we emphasize your interest and knowledge of water production, pump technology, construction work, data communication, leak detection, and investigation of inflow water.

Collaboration with other employees within the VA unit and participation in improvement measures related to your work area is an important part of the role. In your work, you will come into contact with both contractors and property owners.

The work requires the ability to report in digital systems, make assessments, conduct risk analyses, and solve problems. We continuously work towards more efficient working methods where reporting and work orders are handled digitally for quick and secure documentation. Our operations are also moving towards increased digital monitoring, which places demands on interest in new technologies for pipeline monitoring and leak detection. You will be part of a workgroup that collectively has responsibility for the pipeline network with the support of established routines, colleagues, supervisors, and your immediate manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in operation and maintenance work of ground-laid pipeline systems, through education or work experience
• Several years of work experience in operation and maintenance work within VA pipeline networks is an advantage
• Good computer skills, accustomed to receiving work orders and reporting in digital systems is an advantage
• Driver's license B is a requirement
• B96 or BE driver's license is an advantage
• Ability to handle the Swedish language well, both spoken and written
