The orthopedic clinic is a clinic in constant development, making it suitable for both newly graduated nursing assistants and those with many years of experience. We take care of a patient group where we see quick visible results. We work together in multidisciplinary teams around the patient, where all professions are equally important. Due to a parental leave vacancy, you now have the opportunity to work with us.
About us:
We consist of two orthopedic inpatient departments: ward 17, which takes care of acute patients, and ward 18, which cares for patients before and after planned (elective) procedures. Here, you will meet patients with fractures, osteoarthritis, or other types of diagnoses related to the musculoskeletal system. The pace can vary from day to day, making the work both varied and developing. We have nursing assistants, nurses, physiotherapists, and doctors working closely together to provide the best possible care. - The position includes day and evening shifts as well as weekends. We work 2 out of 5 weekends.
As a nursing assistant in our orthopedic ward, you are an important part of the team and contribute to creating a safe and professional care environment for our patients. Your responsibilities include:
- Care and personal hygiene in consultation with the patient
- Assistance with meals, transfers, and mobilization
- Sample collection, monitoring of vital parameters, wound dressings, and documentation
- Being a support for the patient during their care
- Contributing to good collaboration within the team and with other professions
- Participating in development work in the department
Requirements:
- Qualified nursing assistant, with certification of protected professional title (or ongoing application)
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
Meritorious:
- Experience in orthopedics
- Work or internship in an inpatient department recently

Information about the professional title
As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected professional title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant in healthcare and social services.
You can apply for the certificate starting July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in healthcare and social services, but with a different title than nursing assistant. For those offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. Those who had a permanent position with the title nursing assistant when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, can continue to use the nursing assistant title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplaces/employers after July 1. After that, you will need a certificate of protected professional title to use the title nursing assistant.
This job involves direct and regular contact with children and/or young people.
