Åre Municipality is a Sámi administrative municipality, and we welcome applicants who have linguistic and cultural knowledge of Sámi.

The Community Development Administration consists of three departments: citizen service, strategic community planning, and the technical department. The administration is responsible for ensuring service to citizens and businesses, for the strategic planning of community building, as well as for the municipality's water and sewage operations, waste management, property, and project organization to support these operations during new and reinvestments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Join us in developing the sustainable water systems of the future as a Water Engineer at Åre Municipality!

In the technical department and the water unit, you will join a group of solution-oriented, responsible, and positively driven individuals striving to improve operations sustainably in the long term. As a Water Engineer with us, you will be a key person in the work of developing and improving the municipality's water infrastructure. You will be part of a team with two other engineers in water and a total of 11 water engineers collaborating to solve complex challenges and build a sustainable water supply for the future.

The assignment focuses on process technology and the development of our water production facilities in close collaboration with operations technicians, team leaders, and engineering colleagues in water. We are looking for someone who has experience or is motivated to work with change and improvement work in operational activities. We are shifting from historically reactive work to proactive work. A transformation journey that requires patience, commitment, and collaboration.

Responsibilities will include:

• Creating action plans to secure operations and mechanical equipment for sustainable water treatment processes.
• Inventory and analysis of facilities for long-term renewal plans.
• Driving your own projects and providing expert support in investment projects.
• Being the link between daily operations, long-term planning, and future investments.
• Continuously improving and developing our working methods and processes.
• Conducting and documenting investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Engineer or process technician with relevant education in water and sewage, water production, mechanical engineering, production or process industry, or other equivalent experience.
• Experience in the water and sewage industry is an advantage, but the most important thing is that you have relevant experiences that you can apply to the assignment and are engaged and solution-oriented.
• You communicate well in Swedish, both spoken and written.

As a person, you enjoy working both independently and in teams, demonstrating an unpretentious attitude that promotes both improvements and the common goal. The position is vacant provided that there is no surplus, need for relocation, or priority within the municipality. A probationary period may apply.
