Experienced Sous Chef Wanted at Restaurant Papas and Pepe's Bodega
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic sous chef for Restaurant Papas and Pepe's Bodega who wants to help create magical dining experiences with us. As a sous chef, you will play an important role in our team and have significant responsibility for ensuring the highest quality of both food and service.
About Us
Restaurant Papas and Pepe's Bodega are two established restaurants in the heart of Båstad. Here, quality, flavors, and personality meet in a vibrant and relaxed environment. During the summer, the pace picks up significantly – the tempo is high, the guests are many, and the energy in the kitchens is at its peak! We work with professional pride, team spirit, and a strong commitment to food and the overall experience for our guests. Restaurant Papas and Pepe's Bodega is part of the GRAM Group along with Hotel Skansen, Torekov Hotell, Hotel Riviera Strand, and the restaurants Mamas and PAVO. Together, we constitute three distinctive hotels and several restaurants in an outstanding destination, Båstad & Bjärehalvön.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Assist the head chef in leading and organizing the kitchen
- Create and develop menus and recipes together with the head chef
- Be responsible for food preparation, presentation, and serving in the absence of the head chef
- Guide and develop kitchen staff and ensure that guidelines and standards are followed
- Follow and ensure compliance with applicable hygiene and safety regulations
- Participate in planning and executing events throughout the year.
- Cooking, including cold kitchen, hot kitchen, and desserts.
- Be responsible for orders and control of deliveries
- Assist the head chef with raw material cost calculations, waste control, and inventories
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a high-paced restaurant environment
- At least six years of professional experience
- Experience with raw material calculations and orders
- Good knowledge of cooking and menu planning
- The ability to work under stressful conditions and with a high workload
- Experience in leading, motivating, and collaborating with others in the team
- A high level of creativity and passion for cooking
We believe you are a cheerful and forward-thinking person, organized and goal-oriented, as well as solution-focused and driven. You are present and available during working hours.
Desirable Skills
- HACCP training
- Culinary education
- Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written
- Leadership training
- Driver's license (B)
We offer a salary according to collective agreements. The employment is a permanent full-time position starting with a 6-month probationary period. Working hours are varied and include both day, evening, and weekend work with a focus on evenings. Therefore, flexibility is crucial. Immediate start. Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis, so the position may be filled before the application deadline.
We have the possibility to arrange accommodation in Båstad!
