About us

When Health Älvängen health center is a well-functioning unit with competent and experienced staff.

About 7,700 patients are registered with us. The operations include urgent care, planned doctor appointments, child health care, and nurse consultations in areas such as diabetes and asthma/COPD. The health center also has a psychosocial team consisting of a psychologist, CBT therapist, and rehabilitation coordinator. The child health care center is located in newly built premises and is part of the Älvbarnens family center in Älvängen.

Älvängen is a pleasant locality in a growing municipality. The health center is centrally located near the Göta River, with good communications and proximity to trains and buses, making commuting easy from both Gothenburg and Trollhättan.

About the job

Your tasks at the health center span a wide range of responsibilities and cover the field of general medicine where you meet patients of all ages and situations. You work health-promoting, advisory, and treating in primary care, both via phone, home visits, digital care meetings, and at the clinic.

The work is conducted through both acute and planned activities. You work in a team, but also largely independently with your own clinic where you triage, treat, and follow up patients. Close collaboration occurs with your colleagues in the unit and cross-professionally in the team, but also together with other actors such as home healthcare and other specialist care. Together with the health center management, you are responsible for developing and driving the operations forward. Educating future colleagues is an important and rewarding part of our mission, so supervising students is also part of your role at the health center.

About you

You are a licensed nurse, preferably with specialist training as a district nurse. Experience from working in a health center (regional primary care) is an advantage. Supervisory training of 7.5 credits is an advantage. Further education in cardiology/hypertension and/or geriatrics is an advantage.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative in their work and is confident in making their own decisions. You are meticulous, have good problem-solving skills, and can effectively prioritize among your tasks. In your work, you meet many patients, so it is important that you are accommodating, attentive, and have a desire to help others. We also believe that you enjoy teamwork and have a natural ability to collaborate with colleagues and other contacts in your work.

You can express yourself well in both speech and writing, and you are an engaged and good listener in both digital meetings and visits to the clinic. We hope you have an interest in digitalization and business development. A professional approach and a good reception towards customers, patients, and colleagues are a given for you. About the recruitment process

Selection takes place in two steps. The first selection is made by recruiters in the HR department who invite relevant candidates for a phone interview. Then the recruiting manager makes a second selection of the applicants and invites them for an interview at the health center.

We use competency-based interviews, which means that the answers to the questions should be based on actual situations. It is important that you describe as concrete situations as possible and try to avoid generalizing answers – this is so that we can understand the situation, why you acted as you did, and what the outcome was.
