Do you want to make a difference for thousands of train travelers every day? In the role of operational traffic informant, you are responsible for conveying accurate and timely information, contributing to ensuring that everyone arrives smoothly, green, and safely. Are you our new team member?
Operational Traffic Informant
Job ResponsibilitiesIn the role of operational traffic informant, you are responsible for disseminating information both internally and externally to ensure that train travelers and customers receive good and reliable information about the status of train traffic. This can involve everything from delayed and canceled trains to platform changes. You inform train travelers primarily via platform signs, monitors, and loudspeakers, as well as laying the groundwork for information to various websites, apps, and media.
To provide good information, you monitor and stay updated on the traffic situation. You do this through computerized monitoring systems where you work with multiple screens and systems simultaneously, as well as collaborating with colleagues and railway companies. You collect and compile information about track changes, delays, vehicle problems, and contact line faults.
When train traffic operates as planned, you will have calm periods where you primarily monitor and are prepared if the traffic situation changes and sudden disruptions occur.
As an operational traffic informant, you will receive an introduction, training, and guidance to help you get into the job in the best possible way. You will be situated in an operational monitoring environment at a traffic control center where you are an important player in local communication, both receiving and relaying information. One of the best things about this job is that no day is the same.
In this role, you will work shifts according to a schedule throughout the year. According to the current schedule, you work every third weekend. Our earliest morning shifts start at 5:00 AM, and the latest afternoon shift ends at 10:00 PM. As a traffic informant in Gävle, you will work in a team of 10 traffic informants.
Additional InformationIn this recruitment, web-based tests are used as part of the selection process. This is to ensure an objective and non-discriminatory recruitment process. The tests will be sent out when the application period ends, so please keep an eye on your email.
We primarily use email (from the address: [email protected]) for sending out notifications and invitations. Please check your inbox and also your spam folder regularly during this time to ensure you receive all information from us!
QualificationsWho are you?

You are attentive and communicative, and you find it easy to express yourself in a calm and clear manner. In your daily work, you have no problem maintaining concentration even during quieter moments, and you understand that monitoring also requires sharpness and responsibility. But you are also the one who quickly ramps up when the pace increases - you keep a cool head, prioritize correctly, and solve the situation together with your colleagues. You enjoy working with others and have a natural ability to build good relationships. At the same time, you are analytical and proactive, ensuring that you stay one step ahead, always with the traveler's best interests in mind.
