The Eye Care Unit at Skåne University Hospital (Sus), with approximately 250 employees, operates in both Malmö and Lund. The unit is at the forefront of both basic and specialist training for doctors. The departments of ophthalmology at Lund University conduct extensive research. In addition to meeting the needs of residents for eye care in Malmö and Lund, we also provide regional healthcare for the entire Skåne Region as well as Halland, Kronoberg, and Blekinge.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for three assistant chief physicians for our Eye Care Unit. One position involves work in ophthalmology with a focus on neuro-ophthalmology, electrophysiology, and general ophthalmology. The second position involves work in ophthalmology with a focus on medical retina, uvea, and general ophthalmology. The third position involves work in ophthalmology with a focus on medical retina, electrophysiology, botulinum injections, and general ophthalmology. All positions also include additional assignments with specific areas of responsibility.
Your duties include outpatient work. On-call duty is included in the positions. Training and supervision of residents and newly qualified specialists is an important part of the job. There is also a great opportunity to conduct research on eye diseases.
Work will take place at the outpatient clinic in Lund and the outpatient clinic in Malmö.
QUALIFICATIONS
You who are applying are a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare and have:
- specialist competence in ophthalmology
- language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale
- completed or planned course in clinical supervision
- full-time service of at least three years (documented effective time)
- clinical skill and independence in ophthalmology
- documented teaching and supervisory merits.
Disputation and/or specialist exam can be credited for a total of six months of clinical service.
We wish that you are goal-oriented in your work and have good collaboration skills. Furthermore, you are interested in team and development work as well as leadership. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
At a university hospital unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. You may have acquired this through supervision of, for example, nursing and medical students as well as physicians in training and as co- or main supervisors of doctoral candidates. Clearly describe in your application the pedagogical courses you have completed or planned, experience in supervision, and teaching at various levels.
