Nurse for Urology Clinic at Kungälv Hospital

The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. The Surgery and Orthopedics department at Kungälv Hospital includes two care wards, a clinic for surgery/orthopedics and urology, an oncology clinic, and a gynecological clinic.

About the Position

We are now looking for an engaged and qualified nurse for our urology clinic. The job requires great empathy, high competence, and a desire to constantly develop in the field. The position is 100% with daytime hours, Monday to Friday, free from weekends.

With us, you will work in a broad and varied role with responsibility for both patient contact and follow-up and coordination. Your main tasks consist of standard nursing duties that occur in the clinic and include:

• Patient meetings and counseling: Both pre- and post-operative, via phone (Telia ACE), 1177, and physical visits.
• Clinic work: Assisting doctors in urology with examinations such as cystoscopy, needle biopsies, etc.
• Interprofessional collaboration: Close cooperation with all professions at the hospital.
• Own clinic: Together with a colleague, run your own urology clinic that includes instillation treatments, catheter changes, and being a contact nurse for urothelial cancer.

Qualifications

Who are you?

• License as a nurse with at least 2 years of experience as a nurse.
• Experience from clinic work or urological care is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
• A secure professional role with the ability to make independent decisions and prioritize in a varied everyday life.
• A humble and flexible approach – here we work across the boundaries of surgery, orthopedics, and urology.
• Interest in digitalization and the ability to work in various IT systems.
• Interest in being able to support other wards if needed.

Conditions

The employment is a maternity cover starting as soon as possible and running until 2027-03-31 with the possibility of extension.
