About Us

The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

Hello! We are now looking for someone interested in a permanent position with night shifts and possibly evening shifts.

About Us

We are the Orthopedic and Surgical Department at Kungälv Hospital, located in our beautiful facilities on the second floor. The department has 28 beds divided into four teams with seven patients in each team, where all patients have their own room including a bathroom. The environment is fresh and easy to work in. The department focuses on broad orthopedic and surgical care, both acute and planned. We care for patients with acute conditions after trauma, accidents, and illness. Patients with infections and pain issues are also treated in the department. From Monday to Friday, one of our teams is dedicated to elective orthopedic patients who have received a new shoulder, knee, or hip prosthesis.

Our goal is to continuously develop and improve our operations and to always strive to become even better when it comes to patient safety, patient satisfaction, and work environment.

We care about maintaining a good working climate, a safe environment, and close collaboration, both on good days as well as less good days. Your future colleagues are a wonderful group who are caring towards both patients, relatives, and each other - together we make the department a place where everyone can thrive.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you will have the opportunity to work broadly within both orthopedics and surgery, becoming an important part of our change and improvement work and will have close collaboration with nursing assistants, doctors, and paramedics.

What Can We Offer?

  • Work shifts including nights and possibly evenings as well as weekend shifts
  • Competent and wonderful colleagues

Our goal is for all new hires to transition into their work as smoothly as possible, which is why you will receive an individually tailored introduction.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and have an interest in working in emergency care. It is advantageous, but not a requirement, if you have experience in orthopedic or surgical care and are used to taking responsibility and making independent decisions.

You enjoy challenges, have the ability to make quick decisions, and can handle acute situations calmly and methodically. For you, good collaboration skills, joy in working in a team, and a good attitude towards both patients and colleagues are a given. It is also important that you can work independently.

Working in a care department is teamwork, and we therefore place great emphasis on personal suitability. We hope that you want to become our new colleague!

Clinical Foundation Year

For you who are newly graduated nurses/radiology nurses, we offer a Clinical Foundation Year during the first year of your permanent employment. The Clinical Foundation Year includes lectures, process-oriented nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. It also includes shadowing in other departments to give you a broader understanding of the hospital where you work. This is an investment made to give you the opportunity to further develop in your profession and build your professional identity.

Other

Interviews will be conducted continuously during the advertising period, so do not hesitate to submit your application!

We look forward to meeting you!
