Our client in critical infrastructure is responsible for providing and managing the IT systems required to support operations. The IT function works with development, procurement, operation, and management of both new and existing systems.
For a limited period, there is now a need to strengthen the organization with a consultant in IT Supplier Management to support the existing supplier management team.
In the role of IT Supplier Manager, the consultant is responsible for planning, directing, and further developing relationships with IT suppliers. The role ensures that contracts are adhered to, that deliveries meet the business requirements, and that procurements and purchases are carried out in line with established strategies and needs.
The assignment includes two main areas of responsibility:
Collaboration and follow-up of IT suppliers
Ensuring that IT requirements are considered in procurements and purchases
In addition, the consultant will be responsible for the management and development of the client’s supplier management model.
Job Responsibilities
Support the IT organization in interpreting and applying IT contracts
Follow up on supplier collaborations and ensure contract compliance
Manage escalations from the operational business
Follow up on penalties and drive penalty dialogues
Negotiate and manage disputes with IT suppliers
Negotiate and sign amendments and changes to existing contracts
Ensure that relevant stakeholders are involved in procurements
Ensure compliance with specifications, regulations, and IT requirements
Represent the IT function in procurements and negotiations
Requirements
At least 3 years of documented experience as a Supplier Manager, Vendor Manager, or equivalent role within IT operations
At least two documented assignments in procurement and contracts for IT, of which at least one relates to Cloud, SaaS, or infrastructure services
At least one documented assignment in procurement and contracts related to OT
Documented experience of working with IT sourcing strategies
Competency Level
Level 3
Knowledge: High competence in the area
Experience: Good experience and familiarity with the consultant role
Management: Ability to take responsibility for the area of expertise and lead smaller groups
Independence: Works independently and in a structured manner
The assignment is subject to high demands for security and confidentiality awareness. Before the assignment agreement can take effect, the consultant may need to undergo a security review with a background check and sign a security protection agreement in accordance with applicable security protection legislation (2018:585).
