Specialist Trainee (ST) in Anesthesia and Intensive Care

At AnOpIva Umeå, we provide emergency and planned surgical care, anesthesia with accompanying postoperative care, intermediate care units, intensive care for children and adults, and sterile technical operations in close collaboration with other clinics in the region. The clinic is also responsible for the region's air doctor emergency service. The assignment includes conducting research, development, and education.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Working as an ST doctor is a specialist training in anesthesia and intensive care. As an ST doctor with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe. With us, you will have an exciting and enjoyable job, full of challenges and development opportunities!

As an ST doctor in anesthesia and intensive care, you will work together with others in a team with the patient in focus both in surgery and in intensive care. We have a well-developed ST planning with supervision and education. The ST doctors participate in a regional training program for future anesthesiologists. The program is run together with the Northern Healthcare Region's study directors, where ST doctors are expected to be involved in both planning and implementation at some point during their ST period.

In addition to the specialty-specific program, you as an ST doctor will also participate in EKA training for ST doctors within Region Västerbotten to meet general goals. A program focusing on leadership, economics, communication, administration, ethics, and time for personal reflection for ST doctors within Region Västerbotten. To ensure that your ST period is as diverse as possible, an ST position with us includes at least 3 months of service in another location, which will be discussed but preferably at one of the other hospitals in the region.

Evening, night, and weekend on-call duties are included in the job description.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a Swedish medical license with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare by the time of employment. You have an interest in specializing in anesthesia and intensive care.

In addition to the formal qualifications, we place high demands on personal suitability, such as flexibility and responsibility, as well as pronounced collaborative skills. To thrive in the role, we believe that you enjoy working at a fast pace and making quick decisions. We view research merits and previous leadership experiences positively.

We require good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1.

Prior to employment, we will request a criminal record extract that is no older than one year.
