Your Workplace

Welcome to the Healthcare System in Värmland, where we invest heavily in education and development! As a resident physician with us, you will have access to your own development account and a comprehensive training package. Our residency blocks are 21 months long and start in September and December 2026, with an initial "acute course" during week 35 or 48. For those interested in research, we also offer Research Residency, where you can combine your residency with research work.

Your Responsibilities

As a resident physician with us, you will receive a unique combination of education and practical medical work under professional responsibility. You will have the opportunity to develop both professionally and personally, with clinical training and a smooth introduction to working life.

During the six research months, you will work closely with your research supervisor on a research project. At the end of the residency period, you will have the chance to present your work as a scientific manuscript. This period may also provide you with the opportunity to participate in basic scientific training or to present your research at a national or international congress, either orally or with a poster.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for someone with an approved medical degree or a decision document from the National Board of Health and Welfare. When applying for Research Residency, please attach a research plan for the intended project, a certificate from the research supervisor or research group confirming that resources are available to carry out the project, as well as a CV that includes your previous research experience.

You have a strong drive to develop and a willingness to contribute to the progress of the organization together with colleagues and staff. You are committed, flexible, and have an excellent ability to adapt to different situations, allowing you to handle both independent work and teamwork. You always put the patient first and are responsible and motivated in your work. Your communication skills and willingness to contribute to a good working environment are qualities we value highly.

We place great importance on personal qualities to find the right person.

It is advantageous if you have previously worked as a junior doctor and can provide written references and/or recommendation letters.
