to apply for the job

The city of Västerås has removed the personal letter from the application process. We do this to achieve a better and fairer recruitment process. When you submit your application, you will be asked to answer a number of questions that will become an important part of our selection work.

Make a difference for the city's residents while developing in a technically exciting role. As a water technician, you will take responsibility, drive tasks independently, and see concrete results from your work.

Your tasks

Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for the operation, internal property maintenance, and upkeep of the city's swimming facilities, including Lögarängs-, Tillberga-, and Fredriksbergsbadet.

The tasks vary throughout the year and may include taking water samples from the beach baths to monitor water quality during the summer and working on the maintenance of cooling systems on artificially frozen ice rinks during the winter months. You will have close collaboration with project managers and external contractors and participate in renovation and new construction projects.

To ensure that our facilities operate optimally and maintain the highest standards, you will also be on standby.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone with a completed upper secondary education and experience in water operations or property management. By taking initiative and delivering good service, you contribute to a safe and pleasant environment for the city's residents.

It is a plus if you have training in control technology or technical and chemical pool operations. Experience in electrical and plumbing work and knowledge of refrigeration systems and systematic fire protection work is also meritorious.

You are accustomed to using a computer in your work and have a B driver's license.

We offer

We offer a stimulating and varied job where you can use your technical knowledge in a meaningful way and contribute directly to the city's swimming environments and events. You will develop in your professional role, participate in various projects, and work independently in a small team where your ideas and initiatives are truly valued. It is a job with great freedom, variety, and the opportunity to influence, while you become an important part of the city's commitment to safe and well-maintained swimming facilities.

Here, you will be part of something bigger! With warmth and respect, we show decisiveness in both big and small matters. We live our values in our interactions with each other and those we serve. Every day, all year round, we ensure that Västerås functions. Together with your approximately 11,500 colleagues around the city, you will have Sweden's most important job.
