Kriminalvården is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a cook, you will primarily prepare meals for the inmates at the prison, but also to some extent for the staff. The tasks include all activities typical of a large kitchen such as planning, preparing lunch and dinner. Your responsibilities will also include cleaning the kitchen facilities, dishwashing, and self-control in accordance with applicable legislation. Packing goods for clients is also part of the job. Preparation of dietary meals and other special diets may occur. The work is done in collaboration with staff in other functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and self-aware. You remain calm and controlled in stressful situations and collaborate well with others. You have good judgment and take responsibility for your tasks.

Before the summer vacation, there is an opportunity for a temporary position. After the summer position, there is a possibility for continued temporary work.

Requirements

• Restaurant or large-scale kitchen education at the high school level or other education combined with experience deemed relevant by Kriminalvården.
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.

Meritorious

• Experience working in a large kitchen.
• Experience with self-control procedures.
• Relevant language skills.
