Business Description

The Social Services is looking for summer substitutes when regular staff is on vacation. Services are provided around the clock, every day of the year, to individuals who need support to manage their daily lives. The Social Administration operates within home care, care and nursing homes, as well as functional support.

• Department for Functional Support: Supports individuals with disabilities. In housing, daily activities, personal assistance, and short-term accommodation.
• Home Care: Home care where you primarily work with elderly individuals, making home visits alone or with colleagues. During a work shift, you will visit several individuals.
• Care and Nursing: You work with elderly individuals living in their own apartments at the facility. In Gällivare municipality, we have nursing homes, dementia care, and short-term accommodation.

Job Responsibilities

We work according to the user's implementation plan. You should provide good care and support based on individual needs. All work is based on the individual's needs and wishes. You will work with personal care, mobilization and transfer, social support, medication management, and more. Documentation is also an important task, and you are responsible for documenting in the user's journal according to the Social Services Act.

Qualifications

You who apply should be genuinely interested in working with people. We are looking for someone with a high school education, preferably in care and nursing or other education that the employer deems equivalent. We value good collaboration skills and a positive drive in meeting those who need support and help. You are flexible, responsible, and patient, and you must be at least 18 years old. Sufficient knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form is required to perform the job. Personal suitability will be highly valued. Under the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an asset when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

We also welcome applications from those who are 16 years old and studying in the care program at high school. We also seek those who are 17 years old regardless of high school education. No prior knowledge is required. Substitute youth do not replace regular staff but provide support to the staff group through specifically selected tasks. Personal suitability will be highly valued.

The tasks for 16- and 17-year-olds may include:

• Social interaction
• Cleaning
• Some escorting
• Heating food/serving/dishwashing
• Stock work
• Support during shopping

Requirements

• Presenting identification is mandatory for all.
• Presenting a valid work and residence permit if you are not an EU citizen.
• Driving license B for home care, rural areas, and certain activities within functional support. Presentation of a driving license is mandatory if you are employed in areas where a driving license is required.
• Presenting a criminal record for work within the Department of Functional Support.

Working Hours/Duration

Intermittent employment during June-August

Salary

Hourly wage. We apply individual salary setting according to agreement.
