We are now looking for soldiers for the IBSS platoon in Sollefteå at the Västernorrland Regiment with the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, I 21.
Job Description
IBSS (Operational Readiness Protection Force) is responsible for the protection and surveillance of the regiment and its establishment.
You will be part of a security force assisting a security chief during operations. Other tasks include:
- Transport protection
- Access control
- Patrolling
- Exercises at the home unit
Service dogs are present in the department.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Completed military basic training with a passing grade.
- Military security guard
- Driver's license B
Meritorious
- Background in shooting units
- Group leader trained
- Previous experience in a similar position
- Driver's license for tracked vehicles, trucks, minibuses, and heavy personnel carriers.
- Operational chief trained
- Served as a machine gunner/sharpshooter/grenade launcher service or as a driver of tracked vehicles or other vehicles.
- RAKEL operator
- Close combat instructor
- Security guard instructor
- SYSOP/T
- Military police trained

Employment type: Employment according to FM agreement for continuously serving group leaders, soldiers, and sailors (GSSK). The Swedish Armed Forces applies a 6-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.
Employment rate: Full-time
Working hours: The position involves shift planning. Working hours include daytime, nights, and weekends. The position includes 3 hours of physical training during working hours.
Work location: Sollefteå. Business trips and training at other locations may occur, and participation in exercise activities may involve absence and work being conducted outside of regular working hours.
Start date: By agreement. The Swedish Armed Forces applies individual salary setting.

In 2022, the Västernorrland Regiment with the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, I 21 was re-established. A new regiment with centuries-old traditions in Västernorrland and Jämtland. With us, you have the opportunity to be part of something unique, the re-establishment of a regiment in Lower Norrland.
I 21 currently operates in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand and is responsible for the Lower Norrland Garrison. In Sollefteå, there is the Regimental Staff (with personnel in both Sollefteå and Östersund) and the Ångermanland Infantry Battalion. In Östersund, there is the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps. Additionally, there is a Garrison Support Unit, Defense Health, and Logistics Unit operating in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand.
At the Ångermanland Infantry Battalion and the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, we train conscript soldiers for service in the new modern infantry under our proud motto “From mountains to sea, for the defense of Lower Norrland”.
