As one of our inspectors is going on parental leave, we are now looking for a temporary team player who wants to help guide and support our entrepreneurs and residents in environmental and health protection issues.

What can we offer you?

At the building and environmental unit, we primarily work with regulatory activities in the areas of environmental protection, health protection, food safety, and building permits. The unit also houses the municipality's energy advisory services.

The unit currently has a total of 15 permanent employees and is characterized by a high service focus, great commitment, and broad expertise. The environmental function, where this position is located, is responsible for regulatory activities primarily according to the Environmental Code and the Food Act.

Your future tasks

The work as an environmental and health protection inspector with us involves supervision, control, and processing of incoming cases. Since we are a smaller group, we help each other in all our supervision areas as needed. The tasks can be partially adapted based on experience and preferences. The work is carried out both in groups and individually.

As an inspector, you plan and conduct inspections, process incoming cases, and respond to questions from the public. You create clear and easy-to-read service documents, referral responses, and decision materials, and make decisions by delegation. You also participate in the various networks within your areas of responsibility and represent the municipality in various forums.

We also participate in community planning processes through, for example, internal project groups and as a referral body in planning and building matters. Our activities are outward-facing and affect in many ways everyone who lives and works in the municipality of Finspång.

Who are you?

You have a scientific post-secondary education with at least 180 credits and good knowledge of the Environmental Code and/or food legislation.

We are looking for someone who is outgoing and can naturally combine a high level of service with clarity in the regulatory role. You work efficiently in your daily tasks and are goal-oriented and focused on results. You find it easy to work in a team and are happy to share your experiences. At the same time, you are structured and self-driven, which means you are good at planning, prioritizing, and taking responsibility for your tasks. You also need to be flexible and have the ability to adapt to new conditions in a solution-oriented manner when necessary.

The work involves a lot of contact with businesses and individuals, so it is important that you enjoy meeting people. You have a high communicative ability and can express yourself well in both speech and writing.

The job includes inspection visits throughout the municipality, so a driver's license (B) is required.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities when filling the position.
