Are you ready for a bigger task? We are now looking for summer temporary laboratory assistants for the Chemistry Section, NFC in Linköping. The Police Authority is Sweden's largest authority with approximately 40,700 employees across the country. National Forensic Centre
The National Forensic Centre is a department within the Police Authority. In close collaboration with the investigative operations, the department leads, develops, and performs forensic work for successful crime fighting. The department is responsible for the entire forensic process within the police, from crime scene investigations, laboratory operations, and IT forensics to forensic expert opinions in criminal cases. The assignment also includes acting as expert support and conducting training, strategic research, and development to future-proof the police's forensic capabilities.
NFC - Chemistry Section
As a laboratory assistant in the Chemistry Section, you will handle various types of samples, such as narcotics, explosives, ignition particles, and fire. In the role of forensic laboratory assistant, you can either manage cases, perform sample preparation/cleaning, or work with the analysis of samples.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities for case management include, among other things:
- Managing cases to determine whether the materials contain any substances classified as narcotics, health hazardous goods, or doping agents
- Registering and handling selections of materials for chemical analysis
- Examining the material by measuring and weighing
- Making simpler compilations and reports of analysis results to the client
Your responsibilities for sample preparation/cleaning include, among other things:
- Manual preparation of materials for analysis
- Preparation of solutions and control samples
- Cleaning laboratory equipment
- Refilling consumables
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- Started post-secondary laboratory education in chemistry/analytical chemistry or have equivalent knowledge and skills acquired in another way.
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both written and spoken
Desirable Qualifications
We consider it a merit if you also have:
- Experience of routine-based work that the authority may assess as relevant, but no more than 5 years back in time
- Experience of quality work according to ISO 17025 or equivalent that the authority may assess as relevant

The job requires you to be responsible, efficient, and able to plan, prioritize, and organize your work based on the experience you build during your employment.
