We are now looking for you who want to work as a vehicle mechanic during the summer of 2026. As a vehicle repair technician, you will work with preventive maintenance and repairs on all of SSAB's vehicles. This includes all types of work from heavy production machinery to passenger cars and electric trucks. Location: Borlänge.

As a summer temp with us, you will be an important part of a team where job satisfaction, collaboration, and safety are always in focus. The vehicle mechanic's task is to service and repair our vehicles, as well as to suggest improvements on deviations in vehicles, so that these do not recur. It is important for us to have high availability of our production machines.

We offer a stimulating and varied job where SSAB One and continuous improvements are part of everyday life. At the Vehicle Workshop at SSAB, you will have a job that is fun, developing, and challenging.

Working hours are daytime or continuous 2-shift.

The period for the temporary position is expected to be May - August.

Your profile

  • You have a strong safety mindset.
  • You have documented education or previous experience from the automotive industry, preferably with heavy machinery.
  • You have competence in vehicle electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, diagnostic tools.
  • Meritorious
  • - Tire mounting and welding
  • - Experience working with various diagnostic tools and IFS
  • We place great value on your personal qualities and would like you to be calm, driven, unpretentious, and curious.
  • You are service-oriented and have good communication skills, both with colleagues and customers.
  • You have a strong commitment and interest in technology and are a team player.
