The Sámi School Board is a government authority with its office located in Jåhkåmåhkke, including a school principal, controllers, HR, and administrators.

The Sámi school is an equivalent form of primary education, offering teaching from preschool to grade 6. The foundation of the education is based on Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for Sámi schools. The Sámi School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. The Sámi School Board has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sámi School Board organizes distance education in the Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in accordance with the school's governing documents and from a Sámi perspective, both individually and in teams. You will actively participate in developing successful learning environments together with others at the school. Participate in other work at the school together with the school's staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Teaching degree with a valid teaching license. You are proficient in Northern Sámi, both spoken and written. You have a good understanding of Sámi culture. You possess a positive view of people and have the ability to create good relationships as well as the ability to prevent and resolve conflicts. You are meticulous, flexible, and responsive to students' needs and enjoy working with children and youth. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. You have documented collaboration skills.
