Habilitation is specialized healthcare for children and adolescents with autism, intellectual disabilities, movement disabilities, or acquired brain injuries. We provide health-promoting and therapeutic interventions based on each individual's unique needs and circumstances, and we have specialized knowledge of how disabilities can affect daily life, health, and development.

Description

We are looking for someone interested in working with children and adolescents up to 18 years old with diagnoses such as autism, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, muscle diseases, hereditary metabolic diseases, spina bifida, acquired brain injuries, genetic syndromes, etc.

Our specialty is understanding what symptoms these diagnoses can cause and how to prevent and treat them. We follow our patients over time to see how interventions make a difference in the daily lives of both the patient and their family. The operation is outpatient-based and takes place during the day without on-call duties. The habilitation works in close collaboration with, among others, Child and Adolescent Medical Clinics, Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinics, DSBS, Närhälsan, and School Health Services. Job Responsibilities

Our colleague has retired after long and dedicated service, and we are now looking for someone curious about our operations who wants to work together with a good team. The position is located within Habilitation Children and Youth Gothenburg, but placement at the Hisingen clinic. Patients are distributed across an autism/ID (intellectual disability) clinic and two RN (movement disability) clinics. Patients with autism/ID belong to the Hisingen clinic. As a nurse, you will have overarching knowledge of all patient groups as we staff the phone together and help each other as needed. You will work cross-professionally with doctors, dietitians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, psychologists, speech therapists, and special educators.

Your job responsibilities/role will be to closely collaborate with children/adolescents, parents, and other professionals to make assessments and analyses, as well as plan and implement interventions that are then evaluated. The areas the nurse in habilitation primarily works in are sleep, medication follow-up, elimination, nutrition/gastrostomy, and epilepsy. You will have your own clinic or co-booked visits with other professionals. Interventions for children/adolescents can be provided individually or in groups for limited periods. You will be a link for medical questions within habilitation and have a collaborative role with care neighbors.

You will be offered an introductory period and collegial supervision.

Qualifications

You must be a licensed nurse with further education, preferably in pediatric nursing. Clinical experience from child and adolescent psychiatry, child and adolescent medicine, and/or child and adolescent neurology is meritorious. You have the ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
