Residential Support Worker for Social Psychiatry Housing Needed

We are looking for someone interested in a position with awake night shifts.

We have 4 psychiatric residences with 24/7 staffing.

The residences within the social psychiatry area are:

• Luna, with 12 places
• Oxen, with 14 places
• Vega, with 6 places
• Stella, with 12 places

We are now looking for new flexible employees for Oxen and Stella.

The social psychiatry operations fall under “Units for Social Interventions for Adults” and are organizationally part of individual and family care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be a social, motivating, and pedagogical support in the client's home and local environment.

You should be able to meet, converse, support, and help the client in a professional manner, based on individual needs.

The support is based on participation and is shaped individually for each person.

You are an engaged employee focused on the client's best interests and actively work based on an implementation plan. You need to accept that the work involves rapid changes between different activities. We will focus on working with the strengths of each individual, which requires openness to differences.

The work involves:

• Working rehabilitatively with supportive/training interventions, but sometimes compensatory interventions may also occur during periods when the individual is feeling worse in their illness.
• Motivational and activation support in their own apartment and/or in shared spaces.
• Support in structuring daily life and finding/following routines.
• Support in breaking isolation, engaging in activities, and participating in community life.
• Support in social interaction and communication with others.
• Support in difficult conversations and in contacting authorities, the region, and other community functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

You should be a trained nursing assistant in psychiatry, specialist nursing assistant, social educator, treatment educator, or trained as a caregiver in psychiatric care.

You must master the Swedish language very well as there are administrative tasks such as record-keeping and creating implementation plans. A driver's license is also a requirement.

It is an advantage if you have training in ESL pedagogy, low-arousal approaches, body-based methods, and motivational interviewing.

Personal Qualities:

You are structured and at the same time sensitive to other people's opportunities for development, and can also read when they need compensatory support. You need to be secure in yourself and be in a good place in life, i.e., grounded. You should be able to work independently but also understand why we need to have close collaboration in the workgroup and why we must work towards the same goals and follow established routines and working methods.

Flexibility is good, but what does it mean for you? For us, it means that no day is the same and sometimes it requires adapting the day according to what happens in the operation.
