Vattenfall Hydropower is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We have approximately 580 employees in Sweden and Finland, with our headquarters located in Luleå. The renewable electricity production from hydropower is essential for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society, where we play an important role as enablers for the sustainable energy systems of the future. Our production corresponds to about 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. To deliver high availability in our production, we must constantly challenge ourselves, develop our working methods, and take advantage of digital opportunities. You will be an important part of that work!
Do you want to have fun at work while contributing to a fossil-free society?
Now you have the opportunity to do so with us at Vattenfall Hydropower. Together, we work towards a fossil-free society. To achieve our goal, we need engaged employees who want to contribute to a better climate on our planet. You will be an important part of that work!
Come and work with us for a fossil-free future; we are now recruiting a control systems engineer for the Production Area South!
You will be part of the control systems group for Production Area South. We currently have fourteen colleagues in the group, and our tasks span a wide range. We work with technical troubleshooting/problem-solving, periodic maintenance, electrical design, programming, assembly, testing, and commissioning of systems and other electrical equipment in Vattenfall Hydropower's production facilities. We also participate in feasibility studies and projects. We primarily work in facilities along the Ångerman River, Indals River, and Gimån, with assignments in the Dal River and Göta River.
The work as a control systems engineer is varied; you need to be able to adapt to different situations and feel comfortable with changing priorities. Initially, you will work alongside experienced staff and learn new things daily. After the introduction, you will be part of our emergency response group that provides technical support to Vattenfall's production team in the production area.
Requirements
You have post-secondary education in automation or electrical power, or a high school background with a focus on automation, electrical power, or hydropower - or equivalent experience. You also have knowledge in production and operational technology as well as work in hydropower facilities.
For the role, you need to have a good understanding of electrical systems, be able to interpret circuit diagrams, and use standard measuring equipment. Experience with Siemens S7, ABB 800xA, CAD, relay protection, and design work is considered an advantage.
In your work, you will both work independently and together with colleagues. Therefore, we value flexibility, a helpful attitude, and good teamwork skills. You express yourself well in both Swedish and English. Since travel is required in the position, a B driver's license is a requirement.
