The Mälarbanan program is one of the Swedish Transport Administration's largest infrastructure projects and involves the expansion of the railway from two to four tracks between Tomteboda and Kalhäll. The project is largely carried out in tunnels through Sundbyberg and parts of Solna and includes three new stations.

The assignment is conducted in a dense urban environment with high demands on coordination, technical solutions, and consideration for the surroundings. The work takes place close to existing railway facilities and imposes significant requirements on planning and logistics.

As a design manager for land and construction, you will work as a consultant in the Swedish Transport Administration's project organization and be part of the client's team. The role involves responsibility for leading and following up the design work within land and construction in close collaboration with project managers, other design managers, project engineers, and external consultants.

In this role, you will among other things:

• Be the client's representative in the technical area of land and construction
• Lead, coordinate, and follow up the work of the design consultant
• Ensure that deliveries meet the right quality and are delivered on time
• Coordinate the design with other technical areas as well as adjacent design and production
• Participate in the initiation and establishment of the design work
• Contribute to efficient working methods and routines between the client and consultant
• Follow up on requirements, added values, bonuses, and penalties in the design contract
• Participate in work with risks, work environment, scheduling, calculations, and forecasts
• Attend design, technical, and work meetings
• Participate in the review of documents and models

Mandatory requirements

All requirements must be clearly stated in the CV, including periods, assignments, scope, and responsibilities.

1. University/college education equivalent to a Swedish master's degree in engineering with a relevant focus or equivalent education and experience that can be assessed as equivalent by the Swedish Transport Administration.
2. At least 5 years of experience in the role of design manager regarding land where the relocation of water and sewage lines has been included and which has been located within a densely built-up central area. Reference assignments must have been completed within the last 10 years. At least one of the reference assignments must have had a turnover of at least 20 million kronor. Project manager or assignment leader where these tasks have been part of the job are not to be equated with design manager.
3. Documented experience in construction work environment coordination in at least 1 large design assignment and hold a training certificate as BAS-P. The training certificate must be no more than five years old from one month after the contract start. A large design assignment is defined as an assignment over 20 million kronor.
4. Knowledge of relevant standard agreements such as AB, ABK, ABT.
5. Documented good knowledge of AMA.
6. Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
7. Valid driver's license category B.

Assignment information

The assignment is to start no later than 2026-03-23 but can start earlier until 2027-03-31.

Option: The client has the unilateral opportunity to extend the contract with existing contractual terms for up to 7 additional years with an extension period of 1 or 2 years at a time.

Scope: Estimated workload for the assignment is 80-100% annual working hours, amounting to 1,700 hours.

The stationing location for the resource consultant is Sundbyberg. The assignment requires physical presence at the Swedish Transport Administration's office 5 days a week.
