Operations Manager for Stångby Library

We are looking for someone who, together with colleagues, wants to help develop the district libraries at the Public Libraries in Lund!

About the role and your tasks

Stångby is a rapidly growing area in Lund.

The library plays an important role as an active meeting place, enabler of local initiatives, and a hub in Stångby's cultural and community life. The library in Stångby offers extended opening hours. We are now looking for an operations manager who, with creativity and ingenuity, will continue the work for an active and co-creative operation together with colleagues and the residents of Stångby.

As the operations manager, you will lead the daily work at Stångby Library. You will work closely with colleagues to develop the operations according to set goals and further the work with profiling and target group adaptation. You will be responsible for coordinating programs, collaborating within the local community, scheduling, and managing the library's facilities. Co-creation and dialogue are central, and you will actively work to enable user-driven activities. You will have close collaboration with colleagues throughout the organization through projects and working groups, and you enjoy working on the development of both parts and the whole.

In addition to the above responsibilities, you will participate in the daily work at the library and play an important role in meeting and guiding our users in the library space, whether it concerns literature, information, or digital tools.

You belong to the unit of District Libraries, which is tasked with developing and running library services in the local community. The district libraries should be active, visible, and important meeting places for learning, reading, conversation, and culture. In Lund, all district libraries are divided into clusters with a collaborative library. This provides more development power and closer colleagues. Stångby Library is a collaborative library with Linero Library. Therefore, you will also work closely with this staff group through exchanges, joint planning, and some staffing at the other library.

The position includes evening and weekend work.

We are looking for you

We are looking for someone with a degree in library and information science, or another relevant education that the employer considers equivalent. You have several years of experience working in libraries. Work experience and/or education in leadership, project, or process management is an advantage.

You have a good ability to see the whole of the operation and prioritize accordingly. You work independently, structured, and flexibly. You can take a project from start to finish, are creative, resourceful, and enjoy trying new paths. You communicate well, find it easy to collaborate with others, and have experience in both internal and external cooperation. You have an interest in and ability to develop both the small and the large.

You are service-oriented and have experience meeting the library's prioritized target groups. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form and speak at least one additional language. You have a good ability to work with and guide in various digital tools.

We offer you

Welcome to an organization that is in an exciting phase of development. We provide continuous professional development and actively work with collegial learning. We place great value on sharing our knowledge with each other and developing together.
