As an IT technician in infrastructure and network, you are an important resource in the work with operation, maintenance, development, and management of the municipality's IT infrastructure and central IT environment, where you ensure that the IT environment is accessible, secure, and cost-effective from a holistic perspective. You will be part of the IT unit's Infrastructure team and will be introduced by experienced colleagues.

The IT unit is responsible for the central IT support to the municipality's operations with operation, support, and development of telephony and IT environments. The unit is organized within the municipal management administration and currently consists of 17 employees in the roles of IT technicians, IT coordinators, and IT managers. Within the IT unit, we work in teams where the Infrastructure team focuses on the operation and development of IT infrastructure and the Customer team focuses on customer support and the user-friendly IT environment.

The municipal management administration supports three committees; the Municipal Executive Board, the Building and Environment Committee, and the Community Building Committee. The administration employs about 135 staff and is divided into areas of staff, building and environment, and community building and growth.

A day as an IT technician

You act as a consultant, specialist, and problem solver where you deliver professional and service-oriented IT support and work in operation, maintenance, implementation, development, management, use, and decommissioning of IT infrastructure, services, systems, and equipment. You do this through your own work in dialogue and collaboration with colleagues, representatives from the business, decision-makers, and suppliers in various working groups and projects.

You will install, configure, and document, provide information and advice, administer and monitor, inventory, plan, prepare decision-making materials, and place orders. You will be proactive and participate in various projects related to the implementation and development of IT infrastructure and may be responsible for the management of one or more objects within the central IT environment.

The tasks may change over time where the focus area may change or include other functions or operations.

Your competence

You have several years of work experience as an IT technician, an IT technical education at least at the high school level, a broad IT competence combined with a specialist competence or another competence that we assess as equivalent.

To succeed in the assignment, you are driven and take initiative. You take great personal responsibility and enjoy working independently and in teams. You have good collaboration skills and feel comfortable speaking to and in front of different groups. You have a strong sense of order, work structured and goal-oriented with improvement and service in focus, while being flexible, able to see the big picture, prioritize, and deliver on time.

You should have good competence and documented experience in several of the following areas within IT:

• Network installation of outlets with connections and patching as well as configuration of switches, access points, and routers according to standardized protocols.
• DNS administration and certificate management
• VPN, remote access, firewalls, and monitoring
• Windows Server, Active Directory, and SQL Server 2019 and later
• Microsoft 365 Entra, Azure AD, Exchange, Defender, Purview, and Intune
• VMware virtualized server environments, storage, and backup
• Identity and access management, IDM, IAM, SSO, and federation
• Powershell and similar scripting tools

It is advantageous if you have competence in any of the following areas:

• HPE/Aruba network products and/or HPE server products
• Veeam and/or similar backup solutions
• Linux and/or OpenText/Micro Focus/NetIQ/Novell products
• Automation, e-services, and digitalization of workflows
• ITIL, IT system management, IT change management, and continuity planning
• IT security and information security

You are proficient in Swedish and English in speech and writing, can communicate at an IT technical level while making this understandable for users in the organization. A driving license (B) is a requirement. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities in this recruitment process.

Other information

Permanent employment at full-time 100% with start date according to agreement. The position is security classified according to the law 2018:585, the security protection law. Security screening with background checks will be conducted on the final candidate.
