To meet future demands, the municipalities of Säffle and Åmål have a joint Technical and Leisure Administration responsible for water and sewage, waste and sanitation, streets, parks, recreation, cleaning, GIS, and the environment, all of which play key roles in ensuring that many community functions operate and develop.

The mission of the Parks and Recreation Unit is to promote public health and attractive recreational areas. The unit is led by the Recreation Manager, with two operations managers responsible for work management within the parks/recreation unit and the swimming pool unit.

We are now looking for a park technician for the Parks and Recreation Unit Säffle-Åmål, based in Säffle.

Responsibilities

As a park technician, you are our face to the public and ensure that our municipalities are attractive and pleasant places to live and visit year-round. You will work with a variety of tasks within the municipalities' public spaces. This includes maintenance and upkeep of green areas, playgrounds, trees, and equipment. It also involves public decoration and sanitation. Common tasks include machinery work, planting, watering, pruning, clearing, weed control, emptying trash bins and toilets, maintenance work, etc. Handling of error reports and invoices in our operational systems is also included.

Your work may include on-call duties in the form of snow removal and/or ice control.

Your work area includes both Säffle and Åmål, meaning you are expected to work in both municipalities based on the unit's needs.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• High school education in green space maintenance, landscaping, or equivalent. You may also have acquired equivalent knowledge through experience.
• Driver's license B (manual transmission)
• Experience with machinery
• Familiarity with digital tools such as computers and mobile phones

Desirable:

• KY/YH education and experience in the operation and maintenance of outdoor environments as well as plant knowledge
• Driving license for loaders, tractors, or equivalent experience
• Driving license C
• Experience in snow removal

As a person, you take great responsibility and have the drive and commitment to develop operations and work according to planning. You enjoy working with community development and are good at collaborating and creating and maintaining good relationships. The position requires you to be flexible and able to operate within all areas of the administration as needed.

You should, in collaboration with operational management and colleagues, use the administration's resources effectively and qualitatively, and actively work for collaboration within and between our different units. You are solution-oriented and good at working both independently and in a team.
