Bullmarks School is looking for a substitute teacher for grades 1-3

Bullmarks School is an F-6 school with 70 students, located 30 km from Umeå.

The school consists of two buildings, one completely newly built and the other fully renovated. We have an incredibly nice school with the best possible conditions for both students and teachers' working environment. The premises are well adapted for the activity, and each classroom has its own group room. The facilities have a good sound environment with sound-absorbing materials, creating a calm study environment. The school has its own small library with a very good selection, and there is also the opportunity for group work and book discussions. The after-school facilities are well thought out and are located close to the classrooms for grades F-3. The school's outdoor environment is very pleasant, and the school is centrally located in the village with proximity to forests, sports fields, and illuminated trails.

Being a small school and having relatively few staff enables good collaboration between the school and after-school care, creating a solid foundation of security. The students at the school know the staff, and the staff knows all the students and helps to see and support them.

Working at a rural school means that the closeness to the students and the student perspective is central to all parts of the work. We work flexibly and with creative solutions in everything from scheduling to group divisions. The teachers in F-6 participate together in a large work team where everyone helps to plan, for example, outdoor days and theme days and participate jointly in various training initiatives.

The position is a full-time substitute, planned to start from 2026-01-26 to 2026-06-17.

Your Responsibilities

The position is a substitute mentor in grade 3. Your task as a teacher in elementary school is to create a meaningful and safe school environment for our students. Among other things, by planning teaching based on the curriculum, but also making a more comprehensive planning together with colleagues. You will individually and together with colleagues follow up, evaluate, and analyze teaching, as well as assess and document students' knowledge development. You are responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that contributes to students' achievement of goals. As a teacher, you are responsible for informing students and guardians about the student's knowledge development.

About You

You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, structure, and context for all students. You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents. You differentiate and vary teaching based on students' needs. You share your knowledge and experiences to contribute to collegial learning. An important part of the teaching role is to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Teaching certification and qualification for the relevant grades 1-3
• Experience working in schools
• Valid extract from the criminal record
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form
• Driver's license B and access to a private car due to sparse public transport

Meritorious

• Experience working as a mentor in elementary school
