Business Description

The Department of Home Care includes home services in regular housing as well as licensed health and medical personnel for home healthcare. The Department of Home Healthcare is responsible for services provided by nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists in both regular housing (home healthcare) and special housing.

Job Responsibilities

As an occupational therapist, you are expected to have good knowledge in the area of assistive devices and to assess and evaluate the need for occupational therapy interventions. You are responsible for the occupational therapy part of rehabilitation efforts in both regular and special housing within the areas of elderly care, disability care, and psychiatry. Your professional role includes prescribing and testing assistive devices, as well as conducting ADL assessments. Guiding and educating nursing staff in general daily activities is an important part of the job. As a licensed professional, you also have a responsibility for documentation of the interventions that are planned, implemented, and evaluated.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist. You enjoy working in a team, are flexible, and see solutions to problems. You have a holistic view and a good ability to analyze and reflect from different perspectives and can find solutions depending on needs and situations. Your collaboration with colleagues, clients, and the network around the client is good, and you have a responsive, coaching, and supportive approach. Your ability to plan and prioritize is good, both independently and with the support of your colleagues and immediate supervisor. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability; experience from working in the municipality as an occupational therapist is an advantage. A valid driver's license is required. Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
