Your Role

We are now looking for a dedicated and experienced mechanical designer to join our design department. With us, you will work on technically advanced and quality-critical products in an organization characterized by collaboration, humility, and high technical competence. As a mechanical designer, you will have a central position in our development projects. You will work on both new development and further development of existing products and be involved throughout the design chain - from early concept studies and feasibility studies to finished and quality-assured production documentation.

You will collaborate closely with other designers, project managers, and adjacent functions such as production, purchasing, and quality, which gives you a good overall understanding of the product and its application area.

As a mechanical designer with us, you will among other things:

Develop assembly and detail designs within our product segment, primarily in CAD and PLM environments
Work on product improvements and implement changes and updates to existing designs
Actively contribute to method, product, and process development by developing work methods, creating instructions and checklists, and evaluating new technical solutions within design and manufacturing
Support the sales and feasibility study organization with technical analyses and early assessments based on customer and requirement specifications
Participate in the creation of testing documents, work materials, and control documents to ensure high quality and reliability in the final product

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with several years of experience in mechanical design who is comfortable working with established design processes and tools. You have a good ability to understand customer needs and translate requirements into technically sustainable and cost-effective solutions.

As a person, you are analytical, meticulous, and structured, with your own drive and a desire to develop. You take responsibility for your tasks, can work independently, and enjoy collaborating in project form. You communicate clearly and have the ability to handle periods of high tempo and tight deadlines. Experience from project-driven businesses is an advantage.

We are looking for you who have:

Technical education from high school, university, or equivalent relevant work experience.
Several years of experience in mechanical design.
Experience with Inventor and/or AutoCAD.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience with product database management/PDM systems.

Meritorious

Experience in project management or technical sub-project management.
Experience in system development.
Previous work in the defense or aerospace industry.
Knowledge in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or electronics.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.
