At Norlandia Elder Care, we are looking for physiotherapists or occupational therapists who want to work full-time/part-time or on an hourly basis throughout or part of the summer of 2026 at our nursing homes in Västerås.

What does the job of a physiotherapist at Norlandia Elder Care entail?

As a physiotherapist, you are responsible for physiotherapeutic assessments aimed at restoring or maintaining the physical health of the elderly and preserving their functions. You are responsible for assessment, trial fitting, prescription, and follow-up of aids, as well as further education and guidance of nursing staff regarding rehabilitative approaches, ergonomics, and transfer techniques.

Documentation, follow-up, and evaluation of interventions, as well as collaboration with other actors in the care chain, are part of the profession. It is a broad role with many contact points that requires independence and initiative. You will be part of the management team of the operation, alongside a nurse, care staff, and the operations manager.

What does the job of an occupational therapist at Norlandia Elder Care entail?

As an occupational therapist, you are responsible for occupational therapy assessments aimed at maintaining the physical health of the elderly and preserving their functions. You work rehabilitatively and functionally to strengthen the elderly's independence and quality of life. You are responsible for trial fitting and prescription of aids and medical technical products, as well as further education and guidance of nursing staff regarding rehabilitative approaches. You are responsible for developing staff competencies in ergonomics and transfer techniques.

Documentation, follow-up, and evaluation of interventions, as well as collaboration with other actors in the care chain, are part of the profession. It is a broad role with many contact points that requires independence and initiative. You will be part of the management team of the operation, alongside other professionals.

In Västerås, Norlandia operates 8 nursing homes: Hagaäng, Björkbacken, Hökåsen, Daggrosen, and Ängsklockan on the eastern side of the city. Vedbo, Mälarhem, and Fatburen on the western side. All homes are operated under the mandate of the city of Västerås.

As a physiotherapist in elderly care, you will have the opportunity to take significant personal responsibility, which requires both professional skill, prioritization ability, and flexibility.

  • We are looking for a licensed physiotherapist or licensed occupational therapist.

  • It is an advantage if you have previous experience as a physiotherapist or occupational therapist in elderly care.

  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is required.

  • We would like you to have good computer skills and system knowledge.

  • We would also appreciate previous experience documenting in Cosmic.

Other information

Employment type: Summer substitute

Scope: Full-time, part-time, or hourly employment

Start date: June, July, and August 2026, or by agreement.

We apply individual salary setting and have a collective agreement. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
