Lawyer at Region Kalmar County

This includes reviewing and drafting contracts, disclosing documents and confidentiality assessments, legal investigations, and other opinions where legal expertise is needed. You will serve as an expert in various working groups and investigations. Furthermore, you will educate and inform employees in different areas of law.

You will work broadly within several areas of law, including public access and confidentiality law, IT law, data protection, municipal law, health and medical care law, contract law, administrative law, procurement law, and patient law. The position includes participating in Region Kalmar County's ongoing development journey in highly relevant areas such as NIS, data protection, digitalization, data sharing, civil defense, and crisis preparedness. The assignment is largely performed through an advisory and supportive role.

About You

We are looking for someone who has a law degree or equivalent education and has good knowledge in the area of public law, such as the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act, the Local Government Act, the Administrative Procedure Act, the Patient Data Act, GDPR, etc. We would prefer if you have experience working as a data protection officer or have otherwise worked in the area of data protection, or if you have worked as a regional or municipal lawyer.

You are open, engaged, and knowledgeable. You have the ability to work in a structured manner, take initiative, and are quality-conscious. You have a systematic and meticulous way of working and enjoy providing service. You take significant personal responsibility in your work. You have the ability to see the big picture and work well both independently and in a group. You contribute to a good working atmosphere in the team. You have good pedagogical skills and can express yourself well in speech and writing. You have an interest in development issues. We would prefer if you have experience working in a public and politically governed organization. The Regional Office is responsible for preparing matters for the regional council, regional board, committees, and working groups. Additionally, there are functions such as data protection officers, lawyers, archivists, document controllers, secretaries, and administrators within the office. Our unit is part of the Regional Office, which consists of 150 employees with expertise in areas such as finance, law, HR, communication, planning, coordination, sustainability, security, infection control, and healthcare hygiene. Everyone works to develop the organization and improve the lives of the residents of Kalmar County. Within our respective areas of expertise, we also provide support to the management, leaders, and administrations of Region Kalmar County.
