Legal Advisor at the Administrative Court in Karlstad
The Administrative Court in Karlstad is a medium-sized court with about 45 employees that annually resolves approximately 6,000 cases. The court's jurisdiction includes Örebro and Värmland counties. The Administrative Court is co-located with the Värmland District Court in centrally located and pleasant premises in the Town Hall in Karlstad.
The court handles around 500 different types of cases, including assistance cases, social insurance cases, tax cases, compulsory care cases, and procurement cases. The court has an important societal task to ensure that citizens receive a fair and efficient review of administrative decisions. The court actively works on development issues and strives to be a modern and open workplace with engaged and responsible employees.
Job Responsibilities
As a legal advisor, you are very important for the court to carry out its vital societal task.
You will conduct legal investigations, draft proposals for judgments and decisions, present cases and proposals for resolutions, and take notes during oral hearings.
Additionally, you will prepare cases, address practical and procedural questions, and communicate with parties. The cases you work on can be very varied and sometimes require quick handling.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is trained as a notary at an administrative court.
It may be an advantage if you have worked as a legal advisor at an administrative court.
To succeed in the role of legal advisor, you need to have a high work capacity and a very good analytical ability. In situations with high workloads, you remain calm and stable and have the ability to prioritize your work and focus on the right things. Being flexible and quickly adapting to new circumstances is important.
In addition, you need to be meticulous and able to plan and prioritize your tasks. It is essential that you care about quality and express yourself very well in Swedish both in writing and verbally.
You enjoy and find it easy to collaborate with your colleagues at the court while also having a very high capacity to work independently.

We require a high level of security awareness, adherence to the state value framework, and resilience against undue influence. A background check may be conducted prior to employment.

More About the Employment
Employment type: Fixed-term employment (temporary), 12 months with the possibility of extension.
Extent: Full-time
Start date: March 1, 2026, or by agreement.
Salary: Monthly salary. In Sweden's courts, we apply individual salary setting.
