Our Offer
The Interpretation Center is a unit within the Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic of Region Östergötland, and our mission covers the entire region.
We offer interpretation services with good accessibility and broad competence to deaf, deafblind, adult deaf, hard of hearing individuals, and to persons with disabilities related to voice, speech, or language difficulties, as well as psychosocial support to childhood deaf adults. The interpretation service operates around the clock, every day of the year, and based on the client's needs, our professional staff enables communication between people. Here, sign language/deafblind interpreters, transcription and TSS interpreters, speech service interpreters, coordinators, and support pedagogues work.

Job Description
Your main tasks will be to perform interpretation within the framework of the region's area of responsibility. The interpretation assignment includes preparatory and follow-up work as well as travel primarily within the region but also outside the region. New digital solutions and needs allow for interpretation to sometimes be conducted remotely. Your working hours will be scheduled for both day and evening, weekends, and some on-call duties. You will perform interpretation assignments both independently and together with a colleague. In addition to performing interpretation assignments, you will have administrative tasks and responsibilities and be active in the unit's improvement and quality work. You will evaluate and reflect based on the ethical value framework and contribute to positive communication and good relationships.
About You
You are an educated sign language and deafblind interpreter. It is also advantageous if you are trained as a TSS interpreter or transcription interpreter. It is preferred that you have at least 6-12 months of experience working as a sign language and deafblind interpreter.
You have excellent knowledge of the Swedish spoken and written language. It is advantageous to have good knowledge and skills in handling equipment, technology, and remote solutions in connection with remote interpretation. A B driver's license is a requirement.

Furthermore, you take responsibility for your tasks and are structured. In the interpreter's everyday life, it is crucial to adapt to the prevailing situation and to be able to adjust at short notice. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is flexible and prefers a varied everyday life. We work closely together and need good communication to successfully solve the tasks we encounter in everyday life. Thus, the position suits you if you thrive in collaboration and are responsive and communicative with both colleagues, interpretation users, and other parties.
