The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transportation.
The communication department of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service is responsible for the authority's internal and external communication work, press inquiries, and the overall branding efforts.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for two editors who will plan, produce, and publish news on the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's intranet, external website, and LinkedIn. The job involves adapting channels and presenting information in an easily accessible and engaging manner. The editor writes entirely their own news but also processes material from others. The editor plans the flow in the channels and publishes it. You will have extensive contact with other departments and with employees working across the country.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has a self-driven work style and takes great personal responsibility for driving their work forward. You have good collaboration skills and are attentive to others' perspectives and needs. You communicate clearly and are committed to ensuring that the right message reaches the relevant parties. Furthermore, you are someone who makes correct assessments and priorities based on sometimes complex information.
It is important to us that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in people's willingness and ability to develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We are looking for someone who has:
- a university degree in journalism or communication, or other education that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service assesses as equivalent
- several years of experience working as an editor responsible for publishing on the web and in social media in a government agency
- several years of experience writing their own news as well as editing others' texts and creating headlines
- several years of experience in web publishing and working with social media
- very good writing skills. Can write target group-adapted and interesting texts. Able to write news under time pressure, as well as reports
- very good knowledge of making complex subjects understandable in accessible texts
- very good knowledge in text editing
- good photography skills
- very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
It is an advantage if you have:
- work experience from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
- experience working in Sharepoint.
