We are looking for an experienced nurse who wants to be a key person in our upcoming PCI operations. Here, advanced cardiac care is combined with technically oriented interventional work in a highly specialized environment.

In Region Kronoberg, we are 6,500 employees who work every day for the benefit of the residents. The Medicine Clinic is one of the region's largest clinics with both outpatient and inpatient care within internal medicine and several specialties. In Unit 1, we work within the cardiac section where outpatient, inpatient, and day care are gathered to create efficient and safe patient flows. The PCI operations are now being established, and you can be part of this development.

We now offer a unique opportunity for you who are curious about PCI operations and want to combine technically advanced work with work on the ward. You will work 40% on the cardiac ward (Ward 1/HIA/MIMA), but there is an opportunity to combine with another clinic at the hospital with rotation shifts, which means day, evening, night, and weekend shifts. You will combine this with working 60% in the PCI lab, which at first will involve daytime work Monday to Friday. However, the position is fundamentally a rotation position.

To ensure you gain the right competence in the PCI lab, you will spend 50% of your practical work in another region for training purposes during 2026, as the PCI lab is not yet operational in Växjö. This gives you the opportunity to build specialist knowledge and be involved from the start when the operations are established locally. You are also expected to study a university course (7.5 credits) in PCI operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities in the PCI lab:

• Prepare and set up for procedures
• Set up sterile environments
• Assist the angiographer
• Document procedures and ensure quality flow
• Staff pre- and post-op in the elective department of the cardiac section.

Responsibilities in HIA/MIMA:

• Advanced cardiac monitoring
• Interpretation of ST analyses
• Management of ambulance ECGs
• Electrical conversions
• Administration of vasopressors
• Participation in the cardiac arrest team

The PCI lab operations will start in the autumn of 2027, and until then you will do:

• 50% practical work in another region until August 2027 to be introduced to a PCI lab
• University course of 7.5 credits in PCI. (the course does not need to be completed by the lab's start in autumn 2027)
• Supervision in interventional techniques and cardiac monitoring during 2026 and 2027 until start

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed nurse with several years of practical experience
• Experience in cardiac, emergency, anesthesia, or PCI operations is an advantage
• Confident in your role and with good collaboration skills
• Flexible, engaged, and development-oriented
• You are expected to work in lead aprons daily
