Job Responsibilities

As a support pedagogue, your tasks are to support, activate, and guide individuals in their daily lives at either a children's residence or short-term accommodation, depending on where you are employed. Together with other staff, you will be responsible for planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of the operations.

The overarching goal is to keep the user's needs at the center and to continuously adapt the content so that it is meaningful for the user. You will help create conditions for the users' stay in the form of activities and opportunities for social contacts.

As a support pedagogue, it is your task to fulfill the goals in the LSS plan regarding self-determination, participation, and integrity for the individual user. You will perform everyday and planned support measures based on the user's individual needs and wishes in accordance with LSS. Examples of tools for this include the establishment of implementation plans, other documentation, and evidence-based methods. You should contribute to creating a meaningful and safe stay where the operations are shaped according to the users' specific strengths, interests, and needs. Care work is included.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education comprising at least 200 YH credits or 60 university credits. The education should have a clear focus on the disability area and/or the behavioral science area.

To be considered for the position, we want you to have at least 1 year of experience working within LSS. You also have at least 1 year of experience working with individuals with autism and/or intellectual disabilities.

We consider it an advantage if you have prior experience with social documentation and MarteMeo. If you have also worked with children with disabilities or with challenging behavior or AAC, that is a merit.

You have good computer skills and can express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.

A manual driving license is a requirement.

Swimming ability is a merit.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. In this position, you will support children and young people with disabilities who show high sensitivity and therefore place high demands on your responsiveness to their needs to feel good. You should thus have a low-arousal approach and understand challenging behavior.

About the Workplace

The children's residence is aimed at children and young people who have been granted permanent accommodation according to LSS §9:8, all users have a diagnosis of autism, and challenging behavior occurs in daily work.

The users have varying needs, interests, and wishes. The interventions and activities are guided by the needs and carried out individually with the individual user or together with other users in a group.

In the disability support administration, over 3000 employees work together to create and develop even better support and services for people with disabilities. Our operations are within LSS, social psychiatry, personal assistance, guides, and relief workers, as well as health and medical care. Severely ill children who are cared for at home are also included in our mission.
