Accounting Economist with System Interest

We are now looking for an accounting economist with a system interest at the County Administrative Board of Stockholm County for the unit of economy and governance.

What does the role include?

With us, you will work with qualified accounting and ensure that the agency's financial management maintains high quality and complies with applicable regulations. You will participate in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and contribute to the financial part of the annual report. Examples of other tasks included in the role are accounting for VAT and employer contributions, reconciliations of payment flows and banks, as well as reporting in Hermes.

You will be responsible for the administration of our financial system Unit4 ERP, where system ownership is managed by a joint function within the County Administrative Board.

You will provide support and advice on accounting issues internally within the unit and to other parts of the County Administrative Board. You will collaborate closely with other functions that provide support to the operations, including controllers and administrators. Furthermore, you will prepare materials for audits and other reports.

The role includes both analytical and operational work. You will investigate and ensure the quality of accounting issues and drive the work of improvements and efficiencies together with your colleagues.

Are you the one we are looking for?

For this role, we want you to have:

• University education in economics or equivalent education that we assess as comparable
• Several years of current experience in public accounting including knowledge of the state’s economic model and relevant legislation for government agencies
• Very good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing
• Good knowledge of English in both speech and writing
• Good knowledge of the Office package, primarily Excel.

More about us and the role

The employment is permanent, full-time and usually includes a probationary period. We would like you to start as soon as possible or as agreed.

The position is located in the unit for economy and governance, which consists of 15 employees. The unit is responsible for accounting, financial statements, annual reports, and the agency's economic model, and coordinates agency-wide processes for planning, budgeting, and follow-up. The role of accounting economist is part of the accounting group coordinated by the accounting manager.

The unit is part of the department for operational and management support. The department's other units are HR, communication, and HUS (sustainability, procurement, and service).

The unit manager exercises a trust-based and engaged leadership and sees it as important that it is both fun and developing to go to work.

We work in centrally located premises in Stockholm and there is an opportunity for remote work according to the agency's guidelines.

Security Clearance

You must be a Swedish citizen because the tasks within the employment are placed in a security class. We will conduct a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). As a permanent employee at the County Administrative Board of Stockholm County, you will be assigned based on the needs of total defense.
