About us

The Pediatric and Adolescent Clinics are located in three hospitals in Södermanland; Mälarsjukhuset, Nyköpings lasarett, and Kullbergska sjukhuset. Our mission is to investigate, care for, and treat children and adolescents in need of pediatric specialist care. Adolescents are generally treated here until the year they turn 19.

The day care unit at Mälarsjukhuset is adjacent to the children's clinic. Here, children with oncological and hematological diseases are received for treatment, blood transfusions, and more extensive sampling. Patients with rheumatic and certain allergic diseases and gastro patients receive their treatment here from nurses from their respective teams. Most procedures related to venipuncture, premedication, and sedation for surgeries, gastroscopies, and colonoscopies as well as various radiological examinations are handled here. Children and adolescents whose diagnosis and management belong to other clinics, such as ENT, ophthalmology, and surgical clinics, also receive assistance here with premedication and other care related to surgeries and examinations.

We are a wonderful team that needs to grow. At the pediatric and adolescent clinic, we work in cross-functional teams, which include doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, play therapists, hospital teachers, and paramedical resources.

Your responsibilities

You will be part of the team in the day care unit. With us, you will have an interesting, varied, and independent job.

You will also encounter different diagnoses and disease pictures, which contributes to variation and the opportunity for continuous increased knowledge in pediatric care. We are also keen to stay updated in the field and hope that you, as an applicant, are as well.

Your qualifications

You are a licensed nurse, preferably a pediatric nurse or have experience in pediatric and adolescent medicine and are used to taking responsibility. We are looking for someone who has good collaboration skills and is attentive and unpretentious, who wants to contribute to the workgroup with your experience and competence.

You have a professional approach in meeting with patients and their relatives. You work child-friendly and consider the family's right to be involved in the care of their child. You enjoy working in a team, as well as being able to work independently and have the ability to plan and prioritize your work. You appreciate a varied work pace and are flexible and solution-focused.

Permanent employment with start date as agreed.
Working hours: Monday - Friday, daytime, 40 hours/week.
