Skokloster Castle is looking for staff for the public operations season 2026

Job Description

You are the castle's face to the public and welcome our visitors. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for providing Skokloster Castle's visitors with a qualitative and positive overall experience. You can handle high public pressure interspersed with calm moments and can work both independently and in a team. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. As a host, your task is to meet and guide visitors as well as to oversee safety in the museum. You will show the castle to different visitor groups in regular and booked tours on various themes and convey knowledge about the castle's cultural history. In our play environment, Parkleken Paradiset, you actively lead and invite creative play and creation for families with children of different ages, as well as take care of the vegetation and maintain order. Work with public surveys, some cash handling, and basic cleaning may occur.

Qualifications

  • You have relevant education in history, art history, ethnology, or related cultural historical subjects or in pedagogy.
  • You have a pronounced service and safety mindset.
  • You have a very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English. Additional language skills, especially in German or Finnish, are an advantage.
  • Experience in similar tasks is an advantage.

Employment Conditions

Seasonal employment with a monthly salary. Start date is in April or later, but no later than November. The employment period may vary as well as the degree of service. Scheduled working hours. Weekend and evening work may occur. There may be opportunities for extra hours in connection with booked tours.

Skokloster Castle conducts mandatory training days. The authority applies an inclusive approach and strives for diversity in all aspects.
